Exercise That Flabby Neck Away!

Every woman dreads the infamous “waddle” that tends to come with age. I’m not talking about how we walk changing, I’m talking about a term that a single episode of Allie McBeal made famous about the flabby strip of flesh that tends to lose the war with gravity as we age and hangs down from our chin. It’s that loose skin also affectionately (not really) called the “turkey neck”.

I can often tell that I’m struggling to stave one off.  I’ve noticed that as I’ve gotten more toward the age of forty, I’ve had to start really being aggressive about doing certain neck exercises in order to keep the double chin (which I never had before, but noticed when I was about 35 years old) from advancing and becoming a full-on turkey neck.

I’ve seen lots of women in the public eye get surgery to get this fat sucked out of their neck area, and I really don’t like that way that looks. It actually looks as though the heck is “too sharp” and takes too much fat out so that the neck just doesn’t look natural any more – it almost looks too thin and it almost always looks somewhat obvious that surgery has been performed.

Now of course there could be some women who’ve gotten it done very well who I can’t tell on, but the majority of people I’ve seen with the surgery tend to look obvious.

Instead, I’ve opted to address the issue by doing neck exercises which I got from an ebook I bought a while ago for less than twenty bucks.  Facial and neck exercises really do work, they just take some patience and discipline to do them.  You need to stick to the recommendations for repetition as well as for the amount of time each exercise should be held for to get maximum results.

Maintaining a healthy weight also helps, because let’s face it no matter how many exercises you do, you will get neck fat if you gain significant amounts of weight. If this is an area where you are predisposed to getting excess fat already, gaining weight will only make the problem worse and render exercises less effective.

What these exercises do is to lift and tone the muscles that lie under the chin and neck so that all the flesh is pulled up and back. It’s similar to doing ab work in that it just pulls everything in and tightens it up, letting it droop less and helping you to defy the inevitable laws of gravity a little longer – or perhaps for good if you keep it up!
